Art swaps on Ice!

My heart leapt when I heard about the Art Shanty Project outside of Minneapolis. This looked like a PG rated mini-Burning Man (dry lake bed, frozen lake...). It would be a bunch of 1sts for me: (1) participating in this swap, (2) doing a bicycle race, and (3) standing on a frozen lake. Yep, this is my 5th North Dakotan winter and I had still to venture onto a frozen lake. Who doesn't think of that Exorcist 666 boy who made a classmate fall through the ice and then we all watched in horror through the translucent ice how he got swept away by the current! I had to call a colleague for reassurance that yes, the ice was very stable. Well in fact, it was just like walking on snow-covered concrete :) Any case, here's us swapping and my work finding new homes. Well-worth the 5 hour drive! The Art Shanty Project is a blast, and out on Medicine Lake til Feb 7! Send mail art to Art Swap Shanty - c/o The ArtPost Shanty - PO Box 7364 - Minneapolis, MN 55407. Then watch the Art Swap Record http://www.iceartswap.com/the-swap-record.html to find the swapper.
(see snowcyclist.blogspot.com for info on the race)
